In addition to the official entries, one player takes part in the Life Time Members (LTM) team from Turkey (as an independent – without the official support of his country).
The match schedule is quite demanding with players being asked to play two double rounds on the 22nd and 24th of October and complete 7 rounds in 7 days.
The presence of women may seem small (6 in total), but it is still made up of strong chess players. The multi-champion of Latvia WGM Dana Reizniece – Ozola is at No. 8 of the initial ranking, while the Greek WIM Katerina Pavlidou is at No. 12.
Favorites, both individually and as a team, are the Greek team.
